New 2017 Lexus RC F GT3 Wins First Victory at Nürburgring

The newly developed 2017 Lexus RC F GT3 race car has scored a victory in its inaugural professional race, with Dominic & Mario Farnbacher taking first overall in this weekend’s VLN Round 9 race at the Nürburgring.

The Farnbacher Racing team competed in the SPX class, and beat out the ROWE Racing BMW M6 GT3 by 33 seconds for a historic first win in the remade RC F GT3 car — from Sportscar 365:

“I cannot believe what we managed today,” Mario Farnbacher said.

Dominik Farnbacher added: “The collaboration between Lexus in Japan, Toyota in Cologne and our team was perfect. The prototype we used for the first time today was almost all-new and it still can be driven to be more comfortable.”

Lexus restarted the RC F GT3 program after the initial vehicle did not perform up to expectations — the new 2017 RC F is a brand new effort, with further development & testing planned over the coming months.

(An excellent start, congratulations to the Farnbacher Racing team and all the people responsible for the new car!)
