Photo: The Lexus RX 400h Cutaway

The second-generation RX was the platform Lexus used to launch their very first hybrid, the RX 400h. It was the 3.3L 3MZ-FE V6 engine mated with two electric motors, and generated 268 total horsepower.

(Can’t say for sure, but this illustration looks hand-drawn — love the detail.)

You know, the RX is really one model that has significantly changed from model to model. This was a huge change from the prev. generation. The third was a huge change from this and the fourth generation will be a huge change again! I just love the RX! I know many other models change significantly as well but something about the RX sticks out to me. Improving each generation! Love it! Cannot wait to see the new one. It comes out April 1st and I am surprised at how we are yet to see it leaked. Lexus is doing a good job hiding it. I'm also excited to see the interior! The current one is beautiful but their design looks really good too. Hopefully a little NX mixed with some ES/GS styling in the interior

I really enjoyed our '07 RX400h. Was the perfect blend of luxury, power, and fuel economy, not to mention how luxurious yet sporty it looked.

I love this generation of the RX. It still looks modern and classy when I see one. This RXh commercial is one of my favorites as well. http://www.digitaldomain.com/projects/135
