Lexus September 2014 Sales Report

USA

Lexus USA has reported 21,852 total sales for September 2014, a 7.3% improvement over last year — here’s the model-by-model breakdown:

Total Sales 21,852 19,522 7.3 220,683 190,760 15.7

Please note, all percentages are calculated by the Daily Sales Rate (DSR), which takes into account the number of days in the month that dealerships could sell cars. September 2014 had 24 selling days, September 2013 had 23 selling days.

After two massive months of sales (both July & August were record months), Lexus has seen a slight dip in momentum for September. Even so, this marks twelve straight months of year-over-year gains and shows plenty of positives.

The GX has double its year-over-year sales once again, and the GS & CT both managed 20%+ increases after struggling earlier in the year. These jumps helped to offset the minor decrease in RX sales and the not-so-minor drop in LS sales.

(Lexus was third this month in USA luxury sales — Mercedes was first with 27,315 sales, and BMW second with 25,586 units sold.)

Canada

Lexus sales in Canada fell 5.0% in September, with a total of 1,501 units sold. The top selling model was the RX with 635 sales, followed by the IS with 383 sales.

Looks like Lexus should pass 300k (They're good for close to 40k in their December to Remember sales event). in 2015 This would be more than a double-digit increase, but it won't catch BMW and Mercedes until 2015. A full year with the all-new NX crossover and RC coupe should be the difference next year, plus a new 2016 RX hits dealers next fall. And Lexus can win WITHOUT running down to 30k to sell sedans to boost volume. They stay premium at $35k or above. BD

Can't wait to see the boost by the NX and RC in the upcoming months. These next few months and next year are so exciting, can't wait to see what secrets they have in store.

These numbers are very good considering how small the lineup is (which is a good thing) But I hope Lexus keeps the next RX strictly luxury & oppulance. NOT SPORTY!!

No surprise to see the GX nearly double its sale numbers. Local dealers sold everything they have.
