Total Sales 17,637 16,211 8.8 17,637 16,211 8.8

Please note, all percentages are calculated by the Daily Sales Rate (DSR), which takes into account the number of days in the month that dealerships could sell cars. Both January 2014 & January 2013 had 25 selling days.

Sales in January were dominated by the new IS, which jumped 119.9% over last year and helped the brand to its best January since 2008. Interestingly, the CT & GS both showed double-digit gains after struggling through much of 2013, and the GX continues to show excellent sales growth after its late-2013 refresh.

Conversely, the ES & LS both had significant drops — particularly the ES, which has been consistently strong since the debut of the sixth generation model in 2012.

Lexus USA general manager Jeff Bracken said in his monthly sales conference call that poor weather in the East impacted overall sales, but was offset by a 35% sales increase on the West coast.

Canada

Lexus Canada sold 914 vehicles in January, up 12.1% over last year. The IS & GX lead the way with sales up 271.1% & 130.8% respectively. The LS, LX, & RX all had strong months as well.

They will have even more sales by the end of this year. RC on its way and the refreshed CT and GX are now making their way to dealerships.

Is goin to be interesting to see the CT numbers in growth, I just hope that the very nicely done refresh will give to the CT a second childhood because it is one of my favourite Lexus models and imho, has a beautiful design among the hatchback wich are usually looks dull and boring, the audi a3 may be a typical example.

Any explanation for the large drop in ES sales? Also, does Lexus publish figures on ES gas and ES hybrid take rate?

Honestly I am happy to see the ES declining sales numbers, in which the GS and IS start gaining, GS need more push maybe a facelift or changing in engines, maybe the long waited turbo 4 and the long rumored turbo i6 will give the GS it's logical place, and we can all say a big bye to the ES from the lineup I said it before and I will keep saying it over and over, ES did it's role amazingly in the past, but it will not fit in the future, ES now stopping the GS, IS, Avalon, even Mark-X and Crowns from going further more And this is an example the ES numbers in this January been shared around those 5 I mentioned above the total global sales increases 10% of all the 6 by decreasing of just one of them and yes I know that crown and mark-x still domestic market, but they increased again as the IS and GS increased globally

If Lexus wants to beat bmw they have to introduce gran coupes for everything. The 4 series which is a 3 series in coupe variant now has a gran coupe which is the same damn 3 series sedan with a different looking backside. Soon bmw will have 7 series coupe and gran coupe, 2 series gran coupe.

No Lexus should go Maserati and Porsche way not over numbering of models, BMW,Audi and Benz doing this because they need money Lexus should go just as follow IS RC (Grand Touring between IS & GS) NX (CUV between IS & GS) GS SC (Grand Touring between GS & LS) RX or TX just one of them (CUV between GS & LS) LS Then CC (smaller version from the LC to go for SLK, Z4, TT, Boxester) LC (the long rumored 911, SL competitor) LFA Then delete the CT And creating brand for body on frame trucks aka Landcruiser and putting the -GX, PRADO, 4RUNNER, HILUX, TACOMA, FORTUNER, INNOVA -LX, SEQUOIA, TUNDRA, LC200 Successors under it And again Please get rid of scion brand Please
