Live Lexus CT 200h Interior Photos

I just received a massive stack of Lexus CT 200h photos in my inbox, including some pics of a wonderful beige Ecru leather interior with a bamboo (?) wood trim — look at this (click for a larger image):

That sliver of wood really sets the whole thing off — I’m extremely impressed with how this interior looks in a lighter shade, it really highlights the blend between Lexus luxury and that European sensibility. Expertly done.

Next up is this black interior done up with NuLuxe fabric and minus the Remote Touch & navigation:

Lexus CT 200h Nuluxe Black Interior

This is our first peek and the first mention of a base model NuLuxe interior cloth interior, let’s take a closer look:

I like the suede-look to the fabric, though it does soften up the look of the interior somewhat. Regardless, this interior option is directed almost expressly at Europe, where cloth is the norm in base models.

There’s a few more interior images to share, here’s the rest:

CT 200h exterior photos (including more like this) to come shortly!

Update: Have a major correction to make, the black fabric interior is not the NuLuxe material we’ve been hearing about, but a fabric trim level almost certainly reserved for European markets. Here’s a direct quote from the email I received:

NuLuxe is a synthetic leather, with a smooth, soft, leathery surface. In the U.S., we will offer either NuLuxe or genuine Leather. Europe and some other markets are looking at fabric for their entry level vehicles. The image you have is one of the fabric alternatives.

Wow! the wood really ups the ante! And that base model... UGH BLECH YUCK! Funny how we see all these slightly camo'd CTh vehicles after the vehicle was already introduced.

Let me get this straight. So the leather in the base model is still real leather, and we simply get that fabric on the seats and on the doors? I thought we were getting pleather or something. I don't know if this is better or worse than I expected. In the end, the top-end CTh really is a Lexus hybrid, with certain qualities that make even the non-hybrid versions of the top-end Lexus models look mediocre.

The beige leather and wood trim actually looks quite good. The base model, however, just looks hideous. I can't believe Lexus would do such a thing.

I'm a little confused about this. So, NuLuxe is actually cloth not faux leather? I thought that NuLuxe would be something like Mercedes' M-B Tex. That's very disappointing.

What a significant difference between the beige leather and NuLuxe interiors. I have to say, the matte wood trim looks very attractive simply because most cars with wood trim don't have it.

the soft suede NuLuxe interior is very much like the fabric used in the 1gen IS300. http://pics.hoobly.com/full/WAZTVWVQ11ILFFDWYA.jpg

Agreed, the NuLuxe interior is disappointing. It downgrades the look of the CT to a sub 30k car. Pleather would look much nicer. However I am impressed with the beige interior. It strikes a good balance between sport and luxury.

BTW is the beige on the door padded leather or just hard plastic? Seems like most newer Lexus' don't have padded leather on the door panels anymore. Our ES has hard plastic and so does the new RX. I wish Lexus would go back to leather, it's a small thing but it makes the car feel much more luxurious.

^^ yes I agree with that. A simple fake leather on the doors would do wonders. However, I think another weak point with this car is the cup holder area
M
There's something wrong here... The beige interior must be the NuLuxe. As per the official site this light brown interior can only be the Caramel NuLuxe or Ecru NuLuxe at least.

it looks no plastic to me just see the both photos and you 'll realize that the beige one is a cloth or leather but not a plastic

Firstly, the exterior looks like crap, I do have to say If you are going to put the wood on, more than one piece, please? The base model definitely is a swing and a miss If this is some model targeted at younger buyers Aluminum accents should be std. Wood should be part of an optional Luxury pkg. Rusty

@krew..I agree with the comment on "blend of Lexus luxury and European sensibility...the light interior almost looks like a BMW interior, but Nicer!! The Nu-Luxe looks like the Escaine interior the old IS300's had, like "Josh" said...all in all, this is WAY better than the HS250h. Hopefully this model will REPLACE the HS250h. Lexus needs to cut their losses and move on.

This car is made for Europe.. NuLuxe/Fabric is made for Europe .. BMW-1 and AUDI A3 starting prices would have been MUCH lower without these options ;) I do like both interiors ;)

It looks like suede to me, not cloth. :-)

Let me clarify what I understand and heard thus far. James is correct. The NuLuxe is faux leather like Mercedes’ M-B Tex. CT for North America gets a choice of NuLuxe (vinyl) as standard and real leather as an option. What these pictures appear to reveal is that Europe (and, maybe, other markets) get cloth (or, maybe alcantara suede) as standard, NuLuxe as a step-up option and real leather as the top-of-the-line option. And I agree with krew's guess that the light wood is bamboo. For those that dislike it, don't fear. There should be an aluminum trim option like on the Lexus IS and, probably, alternate wood options.

You're absolutely correct, jruhi4 -- just received official confirmation.

The bamboo strip is rocking my world. Absolutely gorgeous.

I think that it is suede just like on the IS300....its kinda nice actually. But like everyone said that wood looks really nice neva seen that before on a car...its actually looks like fresh cut wood ! which is really cool and unique. This car is sure to be a hit. 8-)

Aston Martin was actually the first carmaker to offer bamboo wood as an option on the DB9. The Lexus CT 200h would become the first volume production car to do so. Since bamboo is the most environmentally sound and easily renewable wood, it is especially appropriate for CT.

@jruhi4: Bamboo grows like crazy! Lexus should take advantage of them!
