I had an unexpected surprise today while attending the Toronto Auto Show today—turns out the LF-Ch concept was set to receive its Canadian debut, which meant I had a chance to take some interior photos like this:

The concept’s interior is handmade and essentially left untouched to prevent wear & tear. I could not believe the craftsmanship, just amazing.

I really love the look of the new TFT instrument panel in the 2010 Lexus LS 600hL:

The IP’s central circle theme is a much cleaner approach than the traditional two dial display, and brings to mind the LFA’s design:

Cut the LFA display in half, and you’re left with the older, wiser LS 600hL—what a beautifully subtle shared design cue.

Lexus has announced that the SC 430 will cease production in July, ending the nine-year run of the second generation sports coupe.

To mark the occasion, Lexus Japan will be offering a special, limited edition dubbed The Eternal Jewel, which will bring an extreme level of customization to both the interior & exterior color choices, including separate colors for the body and the roof:

Of course, The Eternal Jewel is also marked with some special badging:

The Eternal Jewel will limited to 200 units and will only be available to Japanese customers. You can find more information on Lexus Japan website.

Naturally, the question becomes: What happens next with Lexus’ sport coupe? We can definitely expect a hiatus for the model, similar to what happened in 2001 with the transition from the first-gen SC to the current SC. Rumor suggests that we might see a concept in 2011 and a production model in late 2011/early 2012.

This is strictly conjuncture, but it’s likely the delay has to do with not taking any attention away from the LFA as it builds momentum towards the first production units in early 2011—but once those units start hitting the roads, it will be a natural marketing opportunity to bring out a (relatively) affordable sports coupe that can capitalize on some of the technology and design cues from the LFA.

Lexus Japan has announced a new Lexus IS 250 X-Edition with a custom black interior with orange contrast stitching:

I’d like to see some higher resolution images to be sure, but I’m such a fan of these custom interiors. I hope this makes it to North America like the Passionate Black GS interior.

Japanese customers can choose this Black X Orange interior with Starfire Pearl, Glacier Frost Mica, Tungsten Pearl, Smoky Granite Mica, Obsidian and Matador Red exterior colors.

A large photo gallery of the 2010 Lexus LS 600hL has been released by Lexus USA:

One of the photos in particular gives us our best look at the grille and the new headlight design, which incorporates a thin light strip that mirrors the taillight design:

I don’t know that these photos make the new grille any more appealing, there’s still the impression that the front-end is too small for the rest of the car. But then, I didn’t like the HS front grille much either until I saw it in person.

Another point of interest is the new LCD instrument panel display with its digital speedometer:

There were some quick shots of the Lexus LFA’s instrument panel in the official press video, but this autoshow simulator footage shows just how amazing the supercar’s display really is:

With the moving chrome ring, there’s a real mechanical feel to the interface, making it look even more like it’s from the future—absolutely beautiful shutdown sequence as well.
