Lexus LS 500 & LS 500h Recalled for Run-Flat Tire Issue

Lexus is recalling certain 2018 LS 500 & LS 500h sedans due to improperly installed runflat tires:

The involved vehicles are equipped with run-flat tires that were assembled to the wheels improperly. There is a possibility that a crack could develop on the sidewall reinforcement layer of the tires. Under certain driving conditions, portions of the tire tread layer could separate, causing a reduction of vehicle stability and increasing the risk of a crash.

Approximately 6,300 LS sedans in the USA and 300 in Canada are affected. In Japan, the recall also extends to the IS 300, the IS 350 and the IS300h.

For involved vehicles, all four tires will be replaced at no charge if manufactured by a specific tire supplier. Owners of all the vehicles involved will be notified by late April.
