TRD Japan Reinvents the Lexus LX Front Grille with New Body Kit

Official Lexus tuner TRD Japan have announced their body kit for the Lexus LX — just take a look at these images:

Ringing up the register, the front grille is ¥230,000 ($2,100), the rear bumper is ¥80,000 ($730 USD), and the wheels are a stunning ¥750,000 ($6,800 USD) — let’s take a look at the full kit on a range of colors:

Lexus will be launching an updated LX 570 soon in Russia and the Middle East and possibly other select markets around the world.
( LX 570 Superior in Russia and LX 570 S in the Middle East )
Main updates
1 - 085 replaces 077
2 - Rioja red interior with black accents
3 - body kit with new grille
4- LED reverse lights

Great work! Can't remember if we discussed earlier this year or not. Toyota internally has listed for the US, that the 2018 Land Cruiser gets minor updates.

In 4-year cycles from launch-facelift or facelift-to-facelift, many OEMS are fond of issuing mini-refreshes in the middle. This confirms solidly, that the LX 570 will be redesigned in 2019 for MY2020.

Toyota has the final designs for both models, probably completed some months after the facelifts were released in late 2015.

The global dealer body will see them sometime this year or next, plus that of prototypes in the Middle East by next summer.

Mystery solved -- the Middle East & Russia must be equipping models with this body kit and selling them as special editions. No big change to the LX for 2018.

They leave the factory with the kits, they are not dealer installed. Different names for different regions ( S/SUPERIOR/TRD )

Yeah mystery solved indeed. Personally I thing it looks horrible compared to the OEM grille, and thankfully it's not a worldwide change. These are simply regional packages for the LX, like certain markets like Russia and the Middle East get, nothing more.

It wasn't a mystery as this isn't the first time something like this happens the only difference is this time the bodykit happens to be developed by TRD.
The Russian spec and GCC spec LX will leave the factory with this kit and it is not an accessory that is installed later on at the dealer as they possibly do for the Japanese spec vehicles since it appears it will be sold as separate accessories for the Japanese market

Btw i notice they make the blue 8x5 look more blue than it actually is which seems misleading.

This still looks like some sort of Sport package. I'm pretty sure not all Russian and Middle East LXs will now have this grille and kit. I'm sure some buyers in those regions will still want the very classy regular grille without kit.

I understand it might have been a mystery to a few people on this forum as you many not have realized this isn't the firs time something like this has happened for the LX and from the factory. Not all but most will end up being the sports package as its always a success in Russia and the GCC.

Yeah makes sense. Regular model and Sport packages. Simply more options compared to other markets, due to the regional popularity of the LX.

Sport package will be offered from the factory for the following markets. ( Optional )
Russia, GCC and China.

In Japan the kit will be sold through TRD separately.

GX is not getting a facelift for MY2018.

I think this might become new F-Sport grille... looks very similar to the one in LC F-Sport being tested.
