Great illustration. Hopefully they quit playing games and make three-tiered LED headlights standard.

Does anyone know if the L-shaped headlights have any special tech to it?

the usual stuffs like Adaptive Front-lighting System, Automatic High Beam Control?

Full LED. I assume Lexus went from the circles to the "L" shape to mimic the Lexus emblem and overall "L" cues seen throughout the car.

Does anyone know why Lexus has taken so long to change the GS & LS models ?
    M
The GS is still fresh, debuting in Spring 2012 as a 2013 model. The LS had a very significant refresh for 2013 with over 3,000 new parts but I do agree it is the same platform engine from 2006.

It's a real shame that the GS hasn't succeeded. It's a very good car, probably the best in its class. Perhaps it's time for Lexus to aim more directly at the hearts of the 5-series and E-Class. First thing to do is to overhaul Lexus' current engine line-up. They need to put the 2.0L turbo into it and tune it differently (say 190hp to battle the 520i, 235hp to fight the 528i, and perhaps a 280hp version too); and also a new 3.0L turbo to replace the 3.5L V6 and to face the 535i. The same 3.0L turbo can also be tuned for higher output to compensate the absence of a V8. They all need to be paired with the 8-speeder as standard.

The GS has met sales goals and is actually the best selling GS ever worldwide. I think that means it is a success :)

Good job on photoshop. But I have mixed feelings on this. First off, it would make the soon to be released GS-F less distinctive then the rest of the GS lineup. But then again GS is due for a facelift I guess......... But from what the RC350F-sport/ RC-F... My guess would be the GS350 Fsport will get the identical headlamp internals (Triple L LED) Where as the "Normal" GS350 will get the same shape looking headlight of the new GSF design but with projectors HID internals ?? Again from the RC350 to RC350 Fsport Headlight differences..
