Photos: The Lexus RC Press Event in New York

Yesterday in upstate New York, I had a chance to drive the RC 350, RC 350 F SPORT, and the absolutely insane RC F on the Monticello Motor Club racetrack.

There’s an embargo on all information & driving impressions, but I can share a couple photos from the event:

Full details on the RC family will be released on September 4th at 11pm ET — if you have any questions at all, please leave a comment and I’ll try to include an answer in my review.

Is the new RC-F miles better than the old IS-F or the improvement is more gradual?

The real question is will the new RCF improvements show Lexus that they need to bring back the ISF as well to show consumers their serious about performance.
    H
Well to be honest If Lexus started with the ISF than the LFA and now continuing with the RCF it means a lot NOT ONLY good improvements actually its well studied to make it the BEST (opinion) And about saying serious to performance... I'm sure 1000% that Lexus is NOT only focused in the performance, they're also focused on how to build the perfect match whether with the performance or comfort or anything that you would think of :D

Matt Farrah said it is just in a different league. He said IS-F feels ordinary by comparison.

How does the 8-speed sport direct shift transmission compare to a dual clutch transmission and is it a limiting factor in the performance of the car?

I can answer that already for the RCF - the ISF 8 speed is amazing, full torque lockup from 2nd gear in manual and instant shifts, no way would a dual clutch be any better, and it has been improved for the RCF. Would also say in fact it is better than dual clutch as when just driving in traffic stop start and low speed then dual clutch are no way near as smooth as torque convertor.

Krew you are a lucky guy to have driven the 3 RC models. I get it about all the performance and handling capabilities. But, how is the driver comfort for a 6' plus guy and how do you think the car would ride on say a 1,200 mile round trip over a variety of roads. Is any of the Lexus ride quality in the RC at all? Thanks!!

I'm just waiting for driving impressions. I'm hoping it's weight doesn't tamper the overall feel of the car.

Yeah same here, curious about the driving feel in relation to the weight during spirited driving. Also, whats the ride quality like for day to day?

Are the LED L shaped lights an option on all the cars or will some cars have them and some cars won't? Does the exhaust note sound just as good inside the car as it does outside? What about if music was playing and you decided to step on it? 0 - 60? 60 - 0? Is it easy for a passenger to use the new Touchpad? Is it intuitive?

Can you confirm if the RC350 F Sport will be available in the U.S. with AWD? REALLY liking the RC in orange, but since I live in a climate with a bit of snow, I would like AWD. Had a chance to sit in the RC F at the USA Pro Challenge last weekend, and LOVED the way that car looked and felt. Can't wait to see the orange in person.

Does this grille not just ruin the whole effect, come on Lexus change it before it is too late. Out of proportion to the otherwise great lines of the vehicle.

I am Black Dynamite, so i have to ask the tough question: Is it as ugly in person as it is in pictures? BD
