Video: The Lexus LFA Code X Racecar in Action

The first video of the Lexus LFA Code X race car is here, and it’s something else — you can hear that modified 1LR-GUE V10 engine starting at 0:57:

The LFA Code X is a significant new development in Lexus racing — the bigger 5.3L V10 and full carbon frame body would indicate some serious research and development, and there’s speculation this Code X also has a longer wheelbase than the current LFA.

The LFA Code X will make its racing debut at the 2014 Nürburgring 24h race in June.

Looks like Gazoo is starting to use a German suspension now.... @ 37 secs in that's a full out KW Suspensions 3-way Race coil over. Interesting to see them move away from Japaneses suppliers...

It sounds lower-revving than the current LFA. Possibly just not under full-throttle...

To say the truth I didn't really hear any engine sound in the vid. Too much music.

The Code X is a full fledged hypercar. It is sporting a push rod suspension found only in F1 racing cars. With that extremely long wheelbase and how it glides through corners, it is definitely a de-tuned hyper car. Wow! The downside, the LFA Code X has lost the high pitch F1 scream that is extremely high strung. That is what made it the best sounding engine of all times. Listen to it closely near the end, it sounds very much like an ordinary V10 like the Gallardo. Huge pout since it does not sound as good as :(
