Lexus USA Announces Recalls on 2006-2008 RX 400h, 2006-2011 IS 350, IS 350C & GS 350

Lexus USA announced two voluntary safety recalls today for the following models:

  • 2006-2008 Lexus RX 400h
  • 2006-2011 Lexus IS 350, IS 350C, and GS 350

The safety recall for the 2006-2008 Lexus RX 400h addresses an issue with the transistors inside the hybrid system’s inverter assembly, which can be damaged by heat due to variations in their parallel circuits.

Affected owners will notice various warning lights on the instrument panel, and in most cases the vehicle will enter “limp home mode.” In limited instances, the damaged hybrid system will cause the RX 400h to shut down while driving.

The safety recall for the 2006-2011 Lexus IS 350, IS 350C and GS 350 addresses an issue with the bolts used to secure the variable valve timing control device, which can become loose and cause the vehicle to stop while being driven. Early warning for this condition can be an abnormal noise just after start-up.

All affected owners will be notified by Lexus directly by mail.

I thoght the 400h has already been recalled a while ago for some transistor-soldering stuff? Or has the beeen a limited Europe only recall?
