Lexus LFA Finishes 37th Overall in 2013 Nürburgring 24 Hour Race

The Gazoo Racing Lexus LFA team of Akio Toyoda, Masahiko Kageyama, Hiroaki Ishiura & Kazuya Oshima finished 37th overall and second in the SP8 class at the 41st annual Nürburgring 24 Hour race in Germany this weekend.

It was a waterlogged event, with rain & fog causing the race to be delayed for almost 11 hours — this unexpected weather prevented the Gazoo team from gaining position on the leaders. The full race results can be seen on the ADAC website.

Considering the fact that they did start in 30th, and 1st in class, but the rain delays were obviously a factor in the race, they should still be proud of their work. BD

i believe it was AMG..but wow 37th position for LFA?? that is just sad

    Not sad at all! The SP8 class is not the top class in the race. There are more powerful cars running..... BD

i think the reason lexus was so far behind was that the driver was CEO of toyota and therefore the wasnt too aggressive as some young drivers. i can see that now

Nice that they finished, but pretty humbling that they got beaten by another Japanese manufacturer with a hotted-up family car (the 26th-placed Subaru Impreza - finishing its 6th-straight Nurburgring 24 hours). Especially given that the LFA could lap 20 seconds faster.
