Extended Video of the 2013 Lexus ES 300h

While reviewing the NY Auto Show press materials for the new 2013 Lexus ES 300h this weekend, I realized that I forgot to publish this lengthy b-roll video (which includes some driving footage at the 6.22 mark):

This video is easily the best look at the 2013 ES yet. I’m reminded of how different it is compared to the current model — it really feels like something brand-new rather than the sixth-generation of an existing model.

The hood line looks better to me as time goes on.I think the sour taste in my mouth in respect to this was a bad camera angle with the first spy shots from China.

During the driving footage… how come the LED DRL wasn’t on?

It was the same thing with the GS photos from China — camera phone spy shots are not a good way to judge a car, that’s for sure. :-)

Couldn’t say — I don’t know about other countries, but in Canada, you can’t even disable the DRLs.

I’m still not feelin’ it.  It seems so out of place on an otherwise brilliant design.

I keep trying to think of it like Cindy Crawford’s mole, but my mind keeps switching over to Gorbachev’s birthmark.

    Haha — too funny. :-)

Well, you have to say that Gorbachev’s birthmark is distinctive…
