Happy New Year!

After finally recovering from a tough cold that disrupted my final week of 2011, I couldn’t be happier to welcome the fresh start of a new year.

2012 is going to be a big year, both for Lexus and this website — not only is there nine new or updated models to look forward to, but as Lexus Enthusiast enters its fifth year of publication, there’s also going to be some big new site developments to watch out for.

It’s going to be a busy start to the year — one week from now, the brand new LF-LC concept & updated LX are set to debut at the Detroit Auto Show, and I’ll also have two big announcements near the middle of the month that I seriously can not wait to share with you.

So as 2011 closes, I would like to thank all of my readers for making this a great year — the next twelve months are going to be very exciting, and I’m glad to have you all along for the ride.

Sincerely,

Kevin R.E. Watts
Editor, Lexus Enthusiast

I did about an hour ago when I googled Lexus news.I have to say I was pleasently surprised & humbled that there wasn't too much Lexus/Toyota bashing on that forum, actually quite the contrary.I was curious to read the news, but concerned about what the regular follower comments would be & I was relieved that it seemed much like this forum instead of half the 'troll' sites out there.Kudos to them.

Yeah it was surprising for me as well. It looks like Lexus is beginning to open the eyes and minds of others.

Sooooo...what was that news you had to share with us?CAN YOU TELL US NOW KREW??...Worth a try, right?Seriously though, can't wait to see what lies ahead this year for Lexus.I can feel in my heart that many great things lie ahead for Lexus/Toyota this year including Toyota's 75th birthday!(I did know the date exactly but I think it's in Aug. or Sept.)I can feel the excitment & anticipation.Really looking forward to the LF-FC concept & hunting for more news & pictures every day. Also looking forward to the new LX's updated design as I always felt it was a good candidate to be upgraded with the new face of Lexus, both due to the age of the current model & the ease of slighty modifying the current models face.I'd like to wish all the best to everyone in the new year & kindest regards!

"I’ll also have two big announcements near the middle of the month that I seriously can not wait to share with you" -------------------------------------------- Im gonna take a crack at it and try to predict what these 2 announcements are...  Lets try process of elimination: The GS is already announced and we know the new LX is coming to detroit. IS is based off the GS so it should be arriving soon. LS should be a year after the GS/IS release...  IS/GS both were released in 2006 (Model year) and the LS/ES/RX were in 2007.  My guess is that they are gonna be the IS and either the ES or RX. My reasoning is that because the ES/RX are based off the camry platform and we just saw the new camry come out - so the new ES and RX shouldn't be far behind!!! But thats just my guess!!! :)

MY guess at Kevin's announcements....1) an AWD option on the ES350 and 2) maybe another child on the way??? lol..    Seriously though, Kevin, thanks for all the hard work you do to provide us readers with such an amazing website and all the latest info and pics. Keep up the awesome work! Happy New Year!
