Lexus IS F Crushed for Illegal Street Racing

I wish I didn’t have to share this video of California Police crushing a nearly brand-new Lexus IS F for illegal street racing, but sometimes the only way to deal with tragedy is to share it with others:

Now we can all be depressed together — Happy Monday!

    Really a solid car! :-)

  • Joshg1001

why dont they part it out instead of wasting all the resources that went into making the vehicle!?

  • Clyde__17

why not selling it instead? sorry but thats really retard !

This government is so damn broke selling this would actually help local law enforcement, fire, & whatever else in the community. Quick easy several thousands for local or state coffers. Anybody here have any legal background I’m sure selling it as is, at an auction is a way smarter deal than paying thousands to the crushing company. #Smh regulations sucks! free up the system!.

Or they could have use it in the force.
Imagine how the owner felt… If it was me I would end up doing time as well cause someone might die.

I won’t even watch that video

That is a truly a sad video. It hurts to watch, I couldn’t even watch it twice. And why would they take the wheels off? They’d make a lot more money with the car as a whole than just the wheels lol

  • LEXICON

As if Mondays aren’t bad enough… If that was mine i would be “crushed”

    YOU AIN’T RIGHT!

    This is just stupid…
They should do that to the driver, not the car!!!!

  • Llamaboiz

look at all those PARTS going to waste… :(

  • Wunko

I remember on Yahoo! they had a news article a few years ago about how in CA they crush your car and make the suspect watch it. This must be it then.

I agree, I think they could’ve made some money with the car. I think they should find a way to punish the driver and not let him get into another set of wheels for a very very long time.

  • Travis

I am not going to watch the video…  the picture already hurts me.

  • Twan29

Damn </3 my heart is broken…so in CA if your car is a street racing car they destory it??????? and why????

  • joshd

I don’t get it, why crush the car, why not put the driver in jail or community service or a large fine :/

    ahahhaha Krew…

  • Miquel

We don’t need this images eeeehhhhhhhh !!!!! Thank you Lexus eeeeehhhhhhhh !!!!!!!

  • Tech26

As others have already stated, the car should have been sold at auction. If it’s a question of where the proceeds of that auction go to, why don’t they just donate the money to a random charity?

Also, I bet the engine would still run after that. Might need a new intake plenum, but that’s probably about it.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Brad

I won’t watch the video either…NEVER!!! I just cant.If it was another vehicle from another manufaturer, then I might be able to stomach the video, but not a vehicle like the IS-F that has so much precision & dedication injected into it.Very sad…I understand that the owner needs to be punished severly, but why punish the fine team of engineers & builders of the car & the whole Lexus/Toyota team who devoted so much time & effort & dedication & enthusiasm all for nothing???

  • Brad

KREW,with the deepest respect, could you remove the video please & replace it with somthing else?It just makes me too sad.

  • Andrew

Sounds like some uptight smug cop got personal. Auction to charity instead. Typical ass backward California police…

  • CWWCMW

Does Not Make Any Sense To Me To Destroy The IS-F! The Driver Is The One That Broke The Law! NOT THE CAR! MORONS!

  • Peteroum

    Such a tragedy!!!

  • Shamus384

hope they took engine out for transplant soul has to live on

  • http://twitter.com/yishai_ettebe Yishai

Goes to show you how stupid California law enforcement is. They could have resold the car, now they are in the hole for even more money.

    Morons, morons, MORONS!

People should start suing California, for doing stupid stuff like this, with their tax dollars.

  • Orkick

C’mon man! At least salvage the parts! Damn. What a waste of human resources and the resources needed to manufacture a car like that. Only in the US…..

  • Anonymous

    oh man , the humanity

  • Anonymous

Well, at least they saved the wheels!
And what happened to impounding & auctioning of seized vehicles? Wonder what the insurance company had to say bout this…

  • Fredy G

That is NOT what happened. Toyota ahem sorry guys I mean Lexus decided they have been copying the germans for way to long and decided to scrap the IS and IS-F all together hahahaha!. It goes to show what many, many out there think of the product. Not much.  fredsavesourmoney@yahoo.com      Zing!

  • Fredy G

ITS A FREAKIN TOYOTA COROLLA ON STEROIDS. CHILL!

  • Abc

Look on the bright side, at least it’s not a LFA.  RIP ISF.

I don’t understand this …. you’d think that a cash-strapped state like California would try to sell or auction the car to boost their economy …. do they even have the jurisdiction to do this?
