Lexus IS F Gets Wrapped in Matte Black

For whatever reason, I have a bunch of matte finish Lexus to show you this week — first off is this time-lapse video of a white IS-F being converted to matte black:

I’ve really come around to the idea of wrapping a car, it’s just a larger version of putting a screen protector on your gadget. Admittedly, it’s also more expensive, but I like the idea of being able to dramatically alter your car with no long-term effects.

(I’m curious how long a car wrap would last, especially with winter weather.)

I've come to learn about this recently while watching an old episode of Pimp My Ride. They were working on a new Scion xB so decided against painting it and wrapped it with some flame etc. Looked really nice. Guessing price has more to do with application than materials.
@iCyCo: The place that did this video is in Australia, and they charge $7000 AUD ($6,900 USD) for a full body wrapping -- I wonder what it would cost in North America.

To answer one of your question, How long these wrap will last?, I believe someone told me they can last up to 5 yrs depended on what kind of wrap is used and maintenance.

We've done two ISF's in full wrap within the last year. The first was matte black and looked incredible however was written off in Vancouver shortly after by an accident. The second one is matte white which looked even crazier. It is currently being driven by one of our financial services managers. In Edmonton, Canada, we have some harsh weather conditions and so far the wrap is holding up quite well. The best part of the matte white is it is a blue on white ISF originally so when you open the doors, it's quite a striking contrast. Mark @ Lexus of Edmonton
@Mark: Thanks for the info, Mark! That matte-white IS F sounds fantastic, especially in snowy Edmonton! :-)

Hi, Mark A typical car wrap will run you about 3k. They should last about 5 years. Installation: look for a graphics company in your area that does full vehicle wraps.
