Lexus CT 200h in Daybreak Yellow

Of all the Lexus CT 200h exterior color options, Daybreak Yellow was the last color I expected to like, but seeing it in person changed my mind, at least to a degree — depending on the sun or shade, it could shift from gold to garish in the blink of an eye, and it was that drastic range in tone that really warmed me up.

Mind you, it’s not a color I would pick myself, but it’s certainly a standout choice in the palette — here are some photos I took of the sunshine CT while cruising the overcast French countryside:

(Special shout out to my driving partner at the Paris CT event, Joaquin Barroeta of Automundo Magazine!)

To my eyes a vibrant colour like this and Ultrasonic Blue suit this car perfectly.Maybe it's the design,or perhaps the size.I'm not quite sure,it just looks "right" to me.

Honestly, those standard headlights just don't look that nice - sorta remind me of the Subaru Impreza. Now I still can't tell for sure; are there LED halo rings around the xenons?

I like it, but is it a color that that will get old quickly?

Style-wise? Difficult to predict.Maybe it'll start a trend?

@Pond: Gold has never really worked on previous Lexus vehicles. Besides losing popularity as a trend, I'm afraid that this color would make the car look old just because the car is a bit dirty.

Personally I really like it,and I think it's good that Lexus offers a colour that may not be to everybody's taste,as I feel they tend to play it a bit too safe coulour-wise.

I feel the same way about the Silvery Blue that's available -- not really something I like, but still unique.

Safety studies have shown that bright yellow is the easiest color to see at dark.  I tried in vain to get affordable hybrid car of this color.  Tired of just having dark boring colors or white available. Plus it's easier to find in parking lot (smile.)  Finally settled on 2011 Clear Sky Blue Metallic Honda Insight.
