2011 Lexus Release Schedule

Lexus USA has published a general schedule for their 2011 lineup — here’s what we can expect for the rest of this year:

Summer

The 2011 GS arrives at dealers with no changes from the 2010 model, save for the new brake override system.

Late Summer

The new IS 350 AWD will debut along with a new F-Sport option package, and the entire IS range will be getting a minor refresh, including the IS Convertible and the IS F.

The 2011 LX 570 will be seeing some minor color changes. The Costa Azul Mica exterior will be discontinued, and Black leather trim will be replacing Gray trim. The Golden Bird’s-eye Maple wood trim will replace Medium Brown Walnut wood trim. A heated steering wheel has also been added to the Luxury package.

We can also expect the 2011 edition of the GX 460 to be released, which will sport no changes other than the new brake override system.

Early Fall

The 2011 RX 350 arrives with new colors, as Satin Cashmere Mica replaces Golden Almond Metallic and Stargazer Black is added. Both Truffle Mica and Black Sapphire Pearl are discontinued.

The 2011 RX 450h also gets a reworked exterior palette, with Satin Cashmere Mica replacing Golden Almond Metallic, Black Opal Mica and Stargazer Black being added, and Aurora White Pearl, Truffle Mica and Black Sapphire Pearl being discontinued.

The 2011 ES 350 also debuts with its re-rated engine, which will now support regular unleaded gas.

Fall

The 2011 LS 460 arrives with only one change: AWD models will be getting a standard coil suspension, with an optional air suspension. The 2011 LS 600hL also has but one change, as it will no longer be offered with Active Stabilizer Suspension System. The Truffle Mica exterior has been discontinued for both models.

The HS 250h also arrives in dealerships, and will have some new exterior colors, as Satin Cashmere Metallic replaces Golden Almond Metallic, Deep Sea Mica replaces Black Sapphire Pearl, and Aurora White Pearl is discontinued.

****

There are actually a few LX 570 that I often see in my city with that weird blue color. It's nice as an option for a designer or celebrity, but overall, it's just poor taste. The change from gray to black interior is smart in that the black is richer and the soft-touch plastic portions look better.

That late? Are you sure? I thought Detroit or Geneva 2011 would've been possibilities...

Does anyone know when the next generation of ES will come out? Is it Fall of 2011 or Fall of 2012?

When I read this last week, I was surprised to see that Truffle Mica, one of my favorite Lexus colors, has been discontinued from across the line.

I'm not really sure. Historically, Lexus ES has followed Toyota Camry's 5-year cycle, which would mean a 6th-gen Lexus ES Fall 2011 launch. Lately, however, Toyota, Honda and other carmakers have been stretching out their model cycles as a cost-cutting measure. Within Toyota/Lexus ranks, the previous 9th-gen Toyota Corolla and current Toyota Avalon and Lexus IS (and, probably, Toyota RAV4) are examples of models that have been or will be extended an extra model year versus initial plans.

:-o, a Lexus IS-F costs here in Holland twice that much (incl. tax)[http://data.lexus.nl/home/data/LexusV8/prijslijsten/LexusISprijslijst.pdf] LS600hL: starts at about €160.000 *fainting*

@Joshd: I too am about to order a 2011 RXh when it becomes possible. I am going to call my local Lexus dealership next week.

I'm hoping the new GS will debut sometime in early 2011...or better yet, next month. :-P

For the longest time, I've been thinking Paris at the end of September -- at first, I was quite surprised to see the 2011 GS, but I think it's only to get the brake override into the current model. I do think we'll see a concept that cuts very close to production model first, similar to the path taken with the CT. Really, all the GS exterior really needs is a revised profile, it's chunky in the back and needs a more sleeker line. Where the GS needs the biggest improvement is in the interior, and I think the CT interior is a good starting point. I have high hopes. :-)

Just guessing, but I would say Fall 2012 -- I think this current ES has a couple more years left.

I've been told September.

@krew: Because of the brake override, I think Lexus should replay that GS commercial with all the rubber burning and add a disclaimer that says "harder now with the brake override; visit dealer to negotiate pricing on the override for the brake override. Oh, and because a tiny bit of liftoff oversteer, please visit dealer and find a lawyer to see what can be done." And about the next-generation ES... the ES has always had a quiet debut, and unless Toyota finally gives in to real world testing, we're just not going to catch a lot of prototypes running around with testers doing their best to make sure the vehicle is as good as it should and could be.

Hmmm... I hadn't considered the possibility of a Paris debut for a 4th-gen GS predictor concept followed by a production version rollout at either Detroit (January 2011), Geneva (March 2010) or Frankfurt (September 2010). Could very well be...

@DuDE: nah Seems unnecessary. Sorry man. Now that the awfully boring Audi A7 Sportback has come out, I hope Lexus doesn't hold back on the designs of the next-gen GS or even the LS Coupe. Lexus still has competition from other brands, and what exactly is wrong with looking stunning and a bit flashy?! Still, the current LS and GS is great and all; they have some nicely sculpted exteriors, but we need more!

I spoke with our Lexus products training rep. and he told me he had seen the new GS and that the interior was very similar to the LFA. He said just put wood in the LFA interior and you pretty much have the new GS interior. He also said that it looks to be released in the summer of 2011 as a 2012.

LS Coupe would be amazing! Could anyone do a quick photo shop of that, would be greatly appreciated!

@ World Of Luxury Thank You! Those are great photo shops, the LS definitely has potential to become a real competitor to the Mercedes CL. The proportions look great in the pics, Lexus just needs to find a way to make super luxury coupes profitable enough to make it into a production model.
