Lexus CT 200h Art Installation

Lexus has commissioned an CT 200h art installation to be displayed at this summer’s Darker Side of Green debates:

Entitled CT Umbra, the installation shifts in color as the viewer circles it, from gold to tints of green and blue, which brings a nice touch of the LF-Ch concept.

The art installation was created by Los Angeles based design studio Nondesigns.

What is the display made of? Is it environmentally friendly? :-)

It looks okay… but I would have done something slightly more effective and fun!

What’s the meaning of “The Darker Side of Green” name? I’m still not grokking that.

@Lexusluver: It’s quite straightforward. Green doesn’t have to be all pretty birdies and flowery fields. It can be Darth Vader wanting to ride fast and efficiently incognito. lol

Lexus’ Press Release describes as “a magnificent pixilated interpretation of the compact premium hybrid”, while Paul Stenquist of The New York Times’ Wheels blog describes it as “an art piece that is built of steel rods and changes colors as the viewer walks around it”. Yeah… I’m still not digging it, and it mentions nothing of being environmentally friendly.
