Lexus Wins KBB Brand Awards for Interior Design and Comfort

Kelley Blue Book has announced the results of its third annual Brand Image Awards, which are based on consumer perception data from 12,000+ KBB survey participants, and Lexus came away with twin victories for Best Comfort Brand and Best Interior Design Brand. Here’s how KBB described these awards:

Best Comfort Brand: Lexus
Known from the very beginning for their quiet, comfortable highway rides, Lexus vehicles continue to offer more and more occupant-coddling amenities. Combined with renowned reliability and consistently high dealership ratings, the Lexus brand delivers a relaxing ownership experience.

Best Interior Design Brand: Lexus
Lexus interiors aren’t extravagant, plush or boundary-pushing, but the fit, finish and attention to detail deliver long-term allure. Clean, comfortable and simple define the typical Lexus interior, which remains user-friendly even as it continues to host more and more technology.

In the luxury arena, other winners included Porsche for Best Performance, Coolest and Exterior Design, and Mercedes-Benz for Best Prestige.

  1. I don’t think any car manufacture can touch lexus when it comes to interiors for the high end models… (LS/LX) The LS is so elegant and luxurious and is very user friendly.

  2. “Lexus interiors aren't extravagant, plush or boundary-pushing…” -_-
I wish Lexus would give us that; they sort of did with the SC but only so much

  3. I Love that pic of the LS interior. Classic and modern look.

  4. Any details on the next generation LS yet?! I’m dying here!!! mad

I can’t wait either. I just wish we could see a concept or something. The next generation is due sometime in 2012, we might see a concept next year or late this year. Remember the concept for the LS460, LF-Sh, debuted a year or two before the LS460 came out. So it is a possibility.

Well we’ll get an idea of what the next gen LS will be like when the GS debuts later this year. I doubt Lexus will show the next LS too soon. That might kill current gen sales especially if it’s significantly better LOL

It better be significantly better; I’m expecting a another big but somewhat unjustified price hike.

  8. @WorldofLuxury:

I’m hoping for another price hike. The LS’s price needs to be closer to it’s competitors. I would hope to see the 5G LS start about $80k. I don’t see them going up that far, but I can always hope I guess. Realistically, I’m thinking a starting price of $70k.

  9. @WorldofLuxury: @James:
The price of the V8 model will most definitely go up in the next gen, but it’s also likely that a V6 hybrid model will replace the current V8 at it’s price point.

The 7 series is coming out with a $70K I6 model this year, and the next gen S Class will have a cheaper V6 model available as well. The LS’s price advantage is diminishing so the price argument won’t even be a big deal anymore.

  10. @(Cj): It will be a return to form, given that previous S Class generations (vs. the original LS 400) also offered a cheaper I6 model.
