BILD Builds a Blue Lexus LF-Ch
As part of their article on the Lexus LF-Ch today, German newspaper BILD did a little photochopping and came up with a blue production rendering, with real side mirrors and some minor softening of the front-end—I can see the production model retaining a variation on the concept’s grille, but think the front bumper will be see significant reworking.

It looks a lot better than the bright gold concept. It’s actually not hideous anymore. I only hope that the production model looks this good.
It looks like a real Audi A3, BMW 1-series, and Mercedes B-class competitor. I wonder if Merc, Audi, and BMW are getting worried? If they’re not, they should. I bet a full-hybrid Lexus hot hatch would sell well, especially in Europe. And the fact that it’s a full-hybrid gives it an advantage in this market.
BTW: What’s the deal with all Lexus concepts having no side mirrors?
I don’t know—it’s like the entire automotive industry is obsessed with video camera side mirrors on their concepts—though I think it’s more to do with them obstructing the view of the car at auto shows.
@krew: That makes sense I guess. Though I don’t see how a small thing such as side mirrors could obstruct the view of the car. Oh well, who knows why car manufacturers do the odd things that they do.
I doubt the front fascia would look so good.
Hehe, it’s the same blue as the teaser sketch was!

this looks better in blue and certainly better than the honda crz.
BILD says also that it’ll be launched in 2012 and will be priced from 20,000€ for the basic versionto 28.000for the hybrid version. But it is BILD, that is like the SUN in German
(I don’t know what this means for the US price. Don’t think they will offer it for 28,000$, respective 39,000$)
And of course BILD mentions that this beautiful, technical perfect…Audi (made from unicorn tears of course) is already available in 2010.
The comments below the article reflect the education level of the average BILD reader:
“..they stole the design from VW Scirocco, that is absolutely obvious”
“Still just a Toyota. Way to expensive for a Toyota. What about the accelerator pedals?!”
@seal: That’s interesting photoshopping with the taillights on and the Lexus logo reversed. lol
I think the pic might be real but just reversed…?
@Dan: Do you remember this article?
@WorldofLuxury: Yeah, that’s the one which seems legit. Dunno why the pic posted by seal here looks like the emblem’s reversed.
