Motorweek Reviews the Lexus GX 460

Motorweek has posted up their 2010 Lexus GX 460 video review:

You can definitely see the effect of the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) on the handling—the lack of body roll is surprising given the speed in the corners—which is a nice counter-balance, bringing that expected Lexus luxury to the body-on-frame underpinnings.

As a bonus, you can watch the Motorweek of the 2003 Lexus GX 470 to see just how much things have changed between generations:

  1. Not bad. Good job, Lexus. This is definitely something Americans, like me, do want.

Now please upgrade the LX’s interior, and I might actually consider it. It’s weird how the GX always had more interior room and more wood trim than the LX does - the GX even had more speakers in the Mark Levinson package. At least the LX is now the more powerful one and overall, the faster one.

So please… more wood and leather for the LX’s interior. My 2003 LX hasn’t really aged yet, so it still holds a lot of value. If it weren’t for the level of researching that I can do on the Internet, I would’ve been a fool and already purchased the third-generation LX.

  2. seems like a nice ride but its not for me.. I’ll stick with the RX 450H

  3. I like the GX but there’s no arguing that it does look a lot like a Toyota SUV. I hate to get into a “rebadged Toyota” argument but in this case, i understand why people might think that.

The one complaint I have about it’s interior is it’s lack of originality. It’s too similar to the LX. The RX has it’s own distinctive interior, but the GX and LX interiors are almost interchangable, at first glance that is.

  4. The Black Onyx paint looks well finished & what a fantastic interior the GX has, genuine Lexus quality.

  5. it´s me again! smile

one information is wrong. The GX 460 isn´t based on the 4Runner. The Toyota “sister” model is the Land Cruiser Prado sold in many countrys around the world. The 4Runner is longer than the Prado - but the Prado is much higher than the 4Runner.

but maybe it isn´t important for most people on which car the GX 460 is based. It´s a great Off-Roader for everyone.
