2010 Lexus GX to Debut in Shanghai Next Month

For those waiting for the next generation of Lexus GX, the wait may soon be over. According to Edmunds, Lexus will be debuting the 2010 GX in Shanghai next month, with full details coming in November. The GX will then reach dealerships some time in December.
(Considering the Shanghai Auto Show is held in February, this will likely be a worldwide press launch event. More details as they come. Also, the Land Cruiser Prado, which is pictured above and directly related to the Lexus GX, is expected to launch at the Frankfurt Auto Show.)

It might have something worthy of mentioning if it is revealed like that…
UNLESS…
- The Prado isn’t expected to be revealed yet (internet pics)
- The Prado isn’t going to be sold there
- The Prado isn’t going to be heavily advertised
- The Chinese would buy anything that looks more like the original third-gen LS or first-gen GX… they love the Porsche Panamera…
only time will tell.
I like the new GX460 and reserve little doubt that the new 4.6 V8 will help lift sales. The vehicle also looks alot better then the aging GX470.
On a side note ... i would like to see Lexus add the 4.5 V8 diesel donk to the LX which undoubtedly would be called the LX450d.

love this commercial
What I said on YouTube:
One of my favorite features - simple, useful, and despite now being available on many cheaper cars, it’s still something I can use to show off to my friends
LOL… Lexus’ website now has a link at the bottom-right-hand corner supposedly leads you to the LF-Ch concept, but it’s actually the LF-C. Not really funny, but yeah
Some sites consider it no more than a facelift with some new sheet metals, technical tweaks, and a slightly smoother ride.
Regarded as a facelift or not ... i reserve little-doubt the GX460 will prove to be very good unit especially considering it is based upon the Prado which itself is a great vehicle.
Naturally the new GX will be more refined with improved biuld quality aswell as on-road and off-road manners, exhibit an improved list of mod-cons not to mention a superior drivetrain that will not only deliver more HP but with improved fuel efficency and CO2 emmissions not to mention much better styling cues.
I like it and is certainly a welcomed replacement for GX470 which is now an aged unit.
The problem is that the GX is very important for the soccer moms, but while being very important for that reason, the GX somehow manages to steal a lot of the Land Cruiser’s customers.
The rear bumper on my LX is always loose and crooked…
Does that mean the GX will be sold outside North America? But that would mean the GX and the Prado would coexist in the same way the Land Cruiser and the LX do today. More likely the Prado will debut and the GX will go on sale without a motorshow debut, since the major North American motorshows are still months away.
At least we can infer from the latest generation LX and Land Cruiser that the interior will no longer be identical. That was about as bad as badge-engineering could get!
WorldofLuxury - Why do you have a loose and crooked rear bumper on your LX ??
I don’t know…
Maybe you’re not supposed to lean on it? LOL
Maybe it got messed up during Lexus’ quality check…somehow… if one were to exist for the LX.
A few of my neighbors have the same problem with their LX 470s. I don’t know about them, but I never hit anything, disregarding the fact that others could have hit my car.
I never really liked how the spacing between the rear bumper and the body panel above it was wide enough for my hand, similar to the issue Jezza complained about with the first-gen Merc ML.
this is gonna sound weird but…
2 nights ago i had a dream that i was in a parking lot near my friend’s house, but it was up in the mountains overlooking the town. then i saw the 2010 GX right there, in white. it had the same taillights, but the back looked more Lexusy and the headlights were a perfect 90 degree angle L finesse triangle design, and the grille was beautiful. i got my phone out to take a picture but two women in suits stopped me, so i had to sneak around. then i abruptly woke up and saw i had no pictures of the GX460, as it said on the back of the car.
aw… you poor kid. Lexus is probably gonna disappoint you more. Btw, you’re not the only one with those dreams. I do too, only that mine usually last a little longer and turn into nightmares, aka the reality.
haha…it lasted for around 15 minutes, and i managed a few pics in my dream…i wonder if the GX will be like my dream, because it looked VERY real…the weird part is i watched american dad before i slept so where the GX came from who knows…
The vehicle also looks alot better then the aging GX470.

Whats the latest updates on the lexus GX 460 470? Release date in the U.S., photos with changes, information from Toyota Company. Will it go on sale this fall or Jan. 2010?
Bring it on I’ll be the first one to drive test it
Interesting news…any info on what date in October? I perused Lexus.com.cn but no new info, that said they didn’t have much advance info on the ES 240 until right up to when the vehicle was released.
Amidst the Tokyo Motor Show reveal of the LFA, the buzz around that, there probably will be less attention paid to the GX debut. However, more customers will certainly be acquiring a GX.
