Lexus LX570 Photo Gallery: At Night

Keeping with the “photos at night” theme, here’s a set of Lexus LX 570 pics that I took last week to show how the giant SUV looked in the dark:
The halogen projector front headlamps were one of the few disappointments of the LX 570. No matter how valid the safety argument may be (the LX 570 doesn’t have bi-xenon headlights to avoid the possibility of blinding oncoming drivers), it comes at the cost of reduced visibility.

If the Cadillac Escalade & Infiniti QX 56 (among others) can have HID’s without blinding oncoming traffic, I don’t see why the LX 570 can’t. For $85k+ it certainly should!
P.S. the speedometer shot is fantastic! Does lexusenthusiast have a flickr account?
I love the interior backlighting choice of blueish/white. I just hate how the ES and IS have the green.
the taillights look amazingly menacing….muahahha
3rd picture is the headlights, right?
my IS has white and blue
Could you make the one of the inside of the headlight into a wallpaper size?
WOW ! Fantastic pictures, Krew. Thanks a million. Would like to see similar galleries for future test cars too. I think Lexus should hire you for their brochure photography ! Coming to the LX, there is no excuse for dropping the Xenons. The new RX350 comes with optional Bi-Xenons & the 450h has Bi-Xenons or LED-headlights, your choice. If they are worried bout blinding oncoming traffic, the new High Beam Assist system (seen in the new RX) should be fitted. Also other luxury SUV’s like the BMW X5 have Bi-Xenons so why not an $80 grand Lexus especially one that prides itself on being an off roader. Plus what happened to the Night View system in the LX470 ?
I’m always curious about what goes on in the minds of those Lexus people.
I’m guessing ” LFA, should we or shouldn’t we ? ”
Can I ask what kind of camera and lens you used to capture these? They’re really fantastic.
To Krew : Hows the difference in ride quality of the LX in ’ sport ’ & ’ comfort ’ modes ? Also how do its NVH characteristics compare with the GS & IS you tested earlier ?
lexus need to get their priorities right, they should be building more unibody crossovers and less old fashioned body on frame SUVS
I’ll have it posted this weekend.
ScottieBoy: I use a Canon Rebel XS with the included lens—I also have Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Lens
that I use for interior shots.
The Sport mode made the LX ride like a truck, you could really feel the weight of the vehicle on the road. The Comfort mode was my default, and it was riding on a cloud. Seriously.
The only noise I heard was went I stomped on the gas and the engine roared—other than that, it was unbelievably quiet. My father-in-law, who is a welder by trade and used to driving big trucks, could not believe the ride. It’s so unlike a truck, it’s almost like magic.
Over the last week I’ve grown to love the LX like I love the RXh - so a lot
It’s mostly thanks to those videos on lexus.com where it looks gorgeous in white. And the second reason is that there’s one in white on sale in my area. Fully loaded, and I got to sit in it. When you first posted all those LX posts I was like meh.. but now, a week later I really appreciate it. The night shots are now very interesting to me. A week ago I didn’t really care about them lol. I don’t know how to post a photo, and it would be too big, but I photoshopped one in white.. I think it’s the most gorgeous car ever…
The darker one is the original but the white one is the good looking one IMO:

That’s how mine would look. Tinted windows, etc.
It is gorgeous Car the Nexus is.
Thank you lens for the explanation.
