Lexus Canada April 2009 Sales Report

Red 2010 Lexus RX350

While auto sales are enduring a major slump in the US, Lexus Canada has just reported their best April ever, moving a total of 1,621 vehicles last month. This is a 4% increase over last year. Some specific points:

  • The new Lexus RX 350 enjoyed an all-time record month, selling 748 units, up 48.4% over last year.
  • Despite the next generation RXh arriving in dealerships shortly, the RX400h beat its April 2008 numbers by 87.8%, for a total of 216 units.

The RX is definitely powering the brand in Canada, making up 59.5% of all Lexus sales in the country, which means sales may slow after the initial new model boost. Regardless, it’s nice to report some positive numbers for a change.

  1. i’m still puzzled why the numbers of Canada and the US are so different…

  2. i love that shot though, looks like the x5 is looking out its window to see if its safe to go outside…apparently not >:)

  3. Lexus is only starting to gain traction in Canada, so there’s a lot of room for growth even in a economic recession.
