Car & Driver Continues Lexus Bashing
The minute I heard the voiceover of this Car & Driver video preview of the Lexus HS 250h, I knew we were in for a treat:
Jens Meiner, who put in one of the most derisive 2010 RX preview videos last year, clearly outdid himself with this preview of the HS — my favorite quote:
“Those [HS gas mileage] numbers will be hard to duplicate in real life driving, unless you have a very light gas foot, you do a lot of city driving, or actually you’re driving a diesel.”
So, is C&D now the North American arm of Auto Motor Und Sport? Not liking the HS is one thing, but slamming a car you haven’t yet driven is just bush league.

C&D has gone downhill, way down for a while now…
...speaking of hybrid MPG, perhaps C&D could take some tips from Motor Trend, who in that Hybrid/Diesel comparo found that the RX 450h got the best overall fuel economy!
I thought about linking to that Motor Trend article, but neither magazine is shining beacon of truth and impartiality.
(I can’t claim to be impartial, either, but at least when people visit this site, they know what to expect.)
oh! here “he” is again….now “talking” about the Lexus HS?? you can not even say that he is a funny guy….you just can´t take him serious…really….i have no words for this guy.
“unless you have a very light gas foot, you do a lot of city driving”
Yes, because lead-footed highway kings are the type of people who normally buy hybrid cars… What sort of goose wrote this!?! Of course the drivers will be light footed and city drivers, that’s the audience hybrids are made for! You don’t critize a drag car for not being able to reverse parallel park…
