2010 Lexus RX Brochure Leaked!

The 2010 redesign of the Lexus RX has finally been leaked onto the web, and it’s a beauty!
I really think Lexus has done something special with this new generation, The LX design cues are obvious and handsomely applied, resulting in great blend of model continuity and design. The most startling aspect of the new RX is how much more masculine the design is. The previous design’s softness has been hardened up significantly. Great work.
And what’s even better is that this has finally seen the light of day — I had received images of this new RX from an anonymous source last week, but was told in no uncertain terms not to publish them. Lucky for us Autospies didn’t get the same advice!
Let’s get to the full brochure, more reaction later:

I’m not really sure what to think about it yet, the interior looks really nice but i’m not sure how i feel about the idrive type of system. The exterior gives me mixed feelings, it reminds me of a buick or subaru in the pictures but seeing it in person it could be really cool

I think any weirdness with the design can be attributed to the bending paper. It doesn’t do the exterior justice, in my opinion.

that’s what i was thinking, and it’s a little hard to look at the interior for me when its basically backwards, it just play with my mind

I wonder if the LFX will turn into the rumored JX vehicle, a more performance oriented SUV which would make a lot of sense

I like it. The design is very safe and will sell alot of vehicles as a result. I really like how they put the 450h powertrain into the Rx. That thing is really going to move now as well as the LED lights

I’m finding it really hard to like…especially since Lexus showed us what they could do by showing us the LF-Xh.
This RX is simply an iteration of the concept with an evident Toyota taste. The inside…is like the new Acura models…very top heavy. I don’t like it very much. It’s cool, but not easy to like.
If I think about it, the car, overall, isn’t thaaaaaat bad.

Geez Louise people, Lexus is out there to sell cars, not trying to compete for a car designing trophy. The RX has its own loyal-following customer demography, they like the RX as it is then why the heck would Lexus mess with that winning formula? To be perfectly honest with the 3RX I actually think Lexus has took a bigger risk than I expected them to based on that interior. Kudos!

Very mixed reactions. When I first saw the pictures on (the other L web site) I was quite underwhelmed. I’m hoping that the distortions from what appear to be cell phone photos of an early brochure don’t do it justice. For now, the jury is still out and I guess we will have to wait till the LA auto show to see the real production model. But as of right now, my 05 RX is looking better and better.

I understand that Lexus is simply appealing to its customers, but what is wrong with trying to make a strong emphasis that it’s not a Toyota?
I have to admit, however, that the looks are slooowly growing on me (:
...but there’s no excuses in the market and economy. It’s all about appeal at first site.

Looks interesting, if evolutionary…the interior though seems quite radical. Looking forward to the press premiere.

Like Louis says, this is a much riskier design than I was expecting, particularly with the interior.
What’s more, if the RX is taking so many design cues from the LX, I think it’s safe to say what the new GX is going to look like.

I’ve seen and been inside of a protoype. Hated the shape of the headlight, hated the Hilander-like rear quarter, the interior looked even worse, not to mention very poor use of space. Why Lexus even considered copying the center design from MDX is beyond me. Appearance and functionality of everything else is just “eh” at best. No 3rd row. I own a RX330 and was very disappointed about the prototype. Will consider a Mini Crossman instead, which should be out at about the same time as this RX.

It Is Awesome

The New 2010 RX is not going to have a third row seat and it will not have i-drive. It is a user friendly mouse like system that will still put the i-drive system to shame. I like the interior as well as the exterior the LF RX concept looked way to futuristic. It seems like most of you do not like change…..and i think you need to get use to it cause everything changes with time. The New 2010 RX is still a lexus….meaning it is still the most reliable automobile out on the market, and it is still going to kick a** in resale value as well as fewest issues. It is still a first class luxury automobile and you would be a fool to take anything away from lexus for this new model design. LEXUS is still the #1 luxury make in the world and if you dont believe me or argree with me then you need to go purchase a lexus. At least do yourself a favor and go drive one!

Oh i am definitely going for a BMW X5 or even a MERC ML.NO-THANKYOU LEXUS

Don’t be too concerned about the “iDrive” you think you see. It’s not at all an IDrive!!! In order to free up the design of the dashboard, Lexus was forced to move the NAV screen out of reach of the driver so they had to come up with some other system to operate it all.
The system they came up with is called a “haptic” interface. (Google it) In short, it provides feedback in a tactile way so you can “feel” in your hand what the “mouse” is doing on the screen. Take it from me, it’s KILLER!!! This system makes IDrive look like something cavemen invented.
When BMW, Mercedes and Audi copy it, just remember that Lexus had it FIRST!!!!

I think the new lexus rx looks decent but then again its only a prototype so their may be changes to come…however the rear end looks slightly like the Mazda CX-7 doesn’t it?

You better buy a box instead of X5. If you want to beat LEXUS get the X6. This a CAR.
