Earthquake Halts Lexus Production
Due to earthquake damage to a major parts supplier, Toyota has suspended all production for the remainder of the week.
Riken Corp, a key supplier of Toyota transmission and engine parts, is located near the epicenter of Monday’s 6.8 magnitude quake, and as such sustained damage to their operations.
The halt in production isn’t expected to affect customers, though Toyota suffered a 1.32% stock drop on the Tokyo Stock Exchange due to the factory closures.
